Cities are habitats for diverse living beings: people and other animals, plants, microorganisms – and fungi. How can we as city dwellers maintain this local biodiversity and manage natural resources responsibly? Could fungi help us build life-supporting networks and structures in the cities of the future?
In the final workshop in the series, participants explored the interconnected world of fungi and their mycelium. Together with architect-researchers Dimitra Almpani-Lekka and Natalija Miodragović, they explored the properties and behaviors of mycelium in nature and architecture as a starting point for speculations about future relationships and applications.
